R.I.P. Paul Nagle

Sadly I have to report that our secretary Paul Nagle passed away peacefully on December 25th. This is a devastating blow not only for FOTM but for each of us personally. Paul was one of the founder members of FOTM and was passionate about preserving and developing the Mid Rhondda Athletic Field as a community resource for future generations. His vision embraced a deep respect and appreciation of our past in which the Mid played such a prominent role. He also understood how important the Mid could become in terms of combating mental health issues, loneliness and isolation, problems magnified by the ongoing pandemic. His vision embraced a future where the Mid could once again become the focus of a vibrant community bringing together people of all ages where diversity in all its forms was the accepted norm. Like me he believed future generations should learn of their heritage and be able to draw pride and strength in knowing where they come from, their roots. To that end we work and continue to work with local schools. One of the last things Paul did was to help produce an online book in conjunction with author Sue Berry. It can be accessed here: https://bit.ly/MidEbook

FOTM will do everything in our power to ensure Paul’s vision for the community becomes a reality and hope you will continue to support and become part of our mission.
